The steps to get to the final product are often never easy. Most creations are new and never been tried before so there are many trial and error tests to get there in the end.
The Vorpal Blade from “Alice – Madness returns”
I made this blade from Alice madness returns from EVA foam, popsicle sticks and patch filler.

The Leviathan Axe from “God of War”
I made this as a birthday gift for a friend. The handle is made from a wooden dowel wrapped in EVA foam. The axe head is made from EVA foam, it was my original plan to make it entirely of EVA foam with a single sheet of a more solid material in the middle wrapped in the leads, to give it a bit of structure. However, I came across two issues with this, the runes carved in the axe head were not lighting up unless there was a light directly under the cut. And my EVA foam was far too thin to hold up. To solve this I used thick plastic which I cut from the side of a storage bin and made the inside of the axe head from this, this plastic layer was then wrapped in the carved EVA foam. The plastic layer contains the lights and I found it also offered some light distribution.
